Wagner Boss Yevgeny Prigozhin Speaks Out: 'It Wasn't My Aim To Overthrow Putin' in Russia

Wagner leader Yevgeny Prigozhin has broken his silence and spoken out to say his troops didn't march to overthrow Putin when they marched on Moscow. In a lengthy messaged posted online he said they had marched to "avoid destruction of Wagner" and to hold state officials to account for their "unprofessional actions" and errors. He says Wagner regrets "they had to hit Russian aviation" and they turned around "to avoid spilling blood of Russian soldiers". The Sun's Defence Editor Jerome Starkey says Prigozhin has "no shortage of ambition, ego or self belief." Cormac Smith who is a former advise to Ukraine's foreign minister, says Ukrainian officials had been joking that they'd run out of popcorn over the debacle unfolding in Russia.
