Blood Moon or Total Lunar Eclipse on 4. April 2015. The rim of our earth-planet is on fire (sunset), transforming the moon into a great red orb. This total lunar eclipse phase lasts only about 5 minutes, the shortest lunar eclipse of the century. From beginning to end, it will last for 3 hours and 29 mins. This is the third eclipse in the 2014–2015 tetrad. The lunar eclipse is called a tetrad when there are 4 lunar eclipses in total within a year.
