SNW Season 3 Episode 6 has a Kirk problem ?

The lastest episode of Star Trek Strange New Worlds is a hard one for me to review ! It is clear that they tried to tell a good story however some parts of the story do not make sense and the history of the USS Farrgaut and one of its crew memebers do not add up !
