When computing values of limits, one often encounters indeterminate forms, like 0/0 and ∞/∞. One technique (among many) for determining these is "factor and cancel", where one algebraically factors some expressions, and then cancels the common factors from the numerator and denominator. In this video, Dr. Silviana Amethyst presents the technique on a rational function of polynomials. She also gives some helpful advice along the way. 0:00 Intro 0:34 Try to "plug it in" 1:37 Indeterminate form 2:19 Factor and cancel 4:04 Conclusion
