STAY IN THE PRESENCE OF GOD Sunday 17th August 2025-second service Genesis 3:8 And they heard the sound of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden. God would always come to fellowship with man because there was something in man that connected with Him. He had breathed His likeness and essence into man: he was the only creature that had the life of God. God gave authority to Adam and what it takes to rule the earth: glory and honour. It was glory and honour that gave man dominion over all other creatures. When Adam and Eve ate of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, he was chased out of Eden because it was not God's intention for man to live by the knowledge of good and evil. Man then lost preservation, and chaos began because he was outside God's presence. Authority comes from the place of fellowship; that is why I encourage us to spend time with Him in fellowship, because it is from His presence that we draw wisdom, guidance and direction. 1 Samuel 5 The story of the ark of God in Ashdod that was stolen by the Philistines tells of what happens when we tarry in the presence of God. The longer the dagon stayed in the presence of God, the worse he got from it. There is no witchcraft or evil powers that can handle the presence of God; they will all be dealt with if we stay in the presence of God. We ought to stay in the presence of God because we are creatures of His presence. Remember, God has no favourites, but it is our response that determines how far we want to go with Him.
