Officials from the City of Kalamazoo are planning a press conference Tuesday morning to address the unrest the city saw Monday evening. The press conference will happen at 11 a.m. outside of the Kalamazoo Public Safety Headquarters on Crosstown Parkway. The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety issued a statement overnight asking the public to avoid the downtown area. "Kalamazoo Public Safety and multiple other law enforcement agencies are encountering large crowds downtown Kalamazoo and some individuals who have destroyed property," the 12:20 a.m. press release said.
