सुप्रीम कोर्ट द्वारा दिनांक 14 जुलाई 2021 को दिल्ली के एक केस साउथ दिल्ली म्युनिसिपल कॉरपोरेशन के मामले में अहम टिप्पणी की गई और कहा गया कि व्हाट्सएप मैसेज चैट को एविडेंस के रूप में इस्तेमाल सबूत के तौर पर नहीं किया जा सकता। यानी माननीय सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने व्हाट्सएप चैट को सबूत मानने से इनकार कर दिया साथ ही यह टिप्पणी भी की कि खासतौर पर बिजनेस पार्टनरशिप एग्रीमेंट से गवर्न या शासित होती है ऐसे मामलों में किसी भी हाल में मात्र चैटिंग या मैसेज को सबूत मानना या उसके आधार पर निर्णय देना गलत है। Important observation was made by the Supreme Court on 14 July 2021 in a case of South Delhi Municipal Corporation in Delhi and held that WhatsApp message chats cannot be used as evidence.
