Dame Dash @damedashstudios www.damedashstudios.com Follow him at   / duskopoppington   First 5 Minutes Automated Transcript: 00:04 so you know i'm a guy that believes in 00:06 myself 00:07 and i have dreams 00:09 and i'm willing to put all my money into 00:10 those dreams 00:12 and regardless of what i never feel 00:14 broke because i'm living my dreams and 00:17 that's what i'm invested in 00:18 and most of my dreams involve making 00:20 other people's dreams come true 00:23 so you know that's why things always 00:25 work out because i also know how to love 00:26 others as well as myself 00:28 you know a lot of times you know loving 00:31 others 00:32 before i love myself and that's really 00:34 what being a boss of a business is like 00:36 being a dad in the family 00:37 your children eat before you do 00:39 you know the business has to eat before 00:41 you do they have to eat first and you 00:44 know 00:45 if my child has a problem 00:47 then it's my problem 00:49 so anyone in in my business that has a 00:51 problem that their problems become my 00:53 problem 00:54 you know and as a dad if my children are 00:58 having a problem it's my job to help 01:00 them fix them and if they won't fix them 01:02 i'll fix them for them you know 01:04 and it's the same thing with your 01:06 business you can't just let your 01:08 business have an issue and just leave it 01:09 like that 01:10 so the responsibility of being a boss 01:12 means worrying about way more than 01:14 yourself 01:16 and if you ever believe 01:18 that being a boss means only worrying 01:20 about yourself 01:21 and that things become easy er 01:24 then you're not a boss because what 01:26 happens with the boss is 01:28 things get more difficult you're a boss 01:30 because you can figure it out 01:31 because you can stay calm under pressure 01:34 and you could also always make sure the 01:36 people around you eat 01:37 see a lot of people don't understand 01:38 what that kind of responsibility is 01:41 not only for you to make money but to 01:42 make money for every single person 01:44 around you 01:45 and again it's not that big a deal but a 01:47 lot of people just don't understand you 01:49 know that perspective that way of 01:51 thinking 01:53 but again 01:55 i'm back to being a creative i'm a 01:56 creative and i'm loving it i'm loving 01:58 making music 02:00 black guns i'm having mad fun being a 02:01 rock star 02:03 i'm having mad fun acting i'm having mad 02:05 fun acting with my girl you know we will 02:07 be doing things in a very safe way 02:09 and still providing new content 02:12 because we're set up that way you know 02:15 so like when everyone's home 02:18 the way my business is set up 02:19 intentionally is 02:20 i can still hit everybody with work from 02:22 home the block is still clicked 02:24 you know what i'm saying and that's 02:25 important 02:26 and you could never think that something 02:28 like this won't happen you always have 02:30 to be somewhat prepared for it 02:32 i'm a little underprepared for it 02:33 because i've been investing in other 02:34 things so after a situation like this it 02:37 definitely makes me start rethinking my 02:38 recklessness for sure 02:40 because you do want to have something 02:42 when uh something like this happens 02:44 you should be able to jump on the jet 02:45 and get up out of there right now i 02:46 can't do that and i don't like that you 02:48 know what i mean but um 02:51 i'm sure if i needed to i could you know 02:53 i'm saying but 02:54 again every dollar goes to a camera or 02:57 lens 02:59 or a um 03:00 you know 03:02 an editor 03:04 you know every i can't do nothing on my 03:06 own you always have to have a team 03:08 you know 03:09 and 03:10 if your team's not on the same sheet of 03:12 paper like that's why with my team i'd 03:14 be like yo please don't come work with 03:15 me for money 03:16 work with me because your dream got a 03:18 dream and you helped me make my dream 03:20 come true i can help you make your dream 03:21 come true but if you don't have a dream 03:23 it ain't really no reason to be over 03:25 here because that's what we do is we 03:26 want to make dreams come true 03:28 that's why it was a must that nicolette 03:30 do an album and we do a tv show because 03:32 that's her dream and she's good at what 03:34 she does 03:35 and she supported so many people 03:37 so 03:38 if i do invest in somebody right now i'm 03:41 only investing people that i see that 03:42 invest in other people 03:44 because selfish people when you invest 03:46 in them they don't invest back so i 03:47 wouldn't advise it you know what i mean 03:49 like music is it it cures anything 03:52 that's bothering your soul 03:54 you know that's why music always thrives 03:56 somewhat in a recession 03:58 because it gives you that escape i know 04:00 what it does for me 04:01 so the world i think needs music you 04:03 know live music is so important to me
