Lazarevic would kill Nate but he gives him short amount of time to open a path to Shambhala. Soon after, the two encountered the Guardians until Lazarevic moved in for the kill. They all stepped inside until another wave of Guardians killing some of his soldiers allowing Nate, Elena, and Chloe to run in a retreat.
