Finding fallen in Volgograd. BBC report ahead of the FIFA 2018.

One of the 2018 World Cup stadiums has been built in a city where nearly two million people died during the Battle for Stalingrad. The city is now known as Volgograd. Over 75 years later, thousands of the dead still lie where they fell, having never received a proper burial. Alexey Bormotov and his team of diggers spend hours in fields and construction sites around the city, searching for the soldiers’ remains, so they can finally be properly laid to rest.
