Man shot at Spokane Valley apartment complex, suspect in custody

A man was shot at an apartment complex in Spokane Valley Tuesday afternoon, and police have detained a suspect. Deputies responded to the shooting at the Parkside at Mirabeau Apartments at around 4:35 p.m. Police say the victim had driven off, but the suspect remained at the scene. At around 4:40 p.m., deputies located the victim in the parking lot of Plante's Ferry Park after he called 911. The Spokane County Sheriff's Office says the victim was not cooperative with specific information and was provided medical aid. The Sheriff's Office also says the victim suffered a gunshot wound to his upper leg. Police believe the shooting began as an argument between the victim and suspect that escalated. The suspected shooter has been detained and may face charges at a later time. Police say there is no threat to the public.
