Indian security forces increased their security at the Pakistan border on Friday (June 26) after a rise in what India said was drone activity and attempted acts of infiltration. "We are on our feet 24/7 to foil any foul intentions from Pakistan's side," an Indian Border Security Force (BSF) soldier said. Several days earlier, the BSF shot down a drone, carrying arms and ammunition from the other side of the border, allegedly sent by Pakistan, the security forces said. India has increased its surveillance capacity since the drone incident and a deadly clash with Chinese troops on their disputed Himalayan border, which left 20 Indian soldiers dead, the BSF said. Pakistan's Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi told Reuters on Thursday (June 25) he was concerned about regional tensions after the June 15 clash in the Ladakh region, in particular about the possibility Pakistan could get dragged in. The three nuclear-armed neighbours all have historic disputes over high-altitude border demarcation in the Himalayas. (Production: Hanna Rantala, Lucy Marks)
