Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday said thatover 3,000 Indians are being kept at Kharkiv train station by Ukraine's military. “Thousands of young people, studying in Ukraine’s colleges were kept for more than one day", Putin said. Ministry Of External Affairs Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi had earlier said that the ministry has not received any reports of any hostage situation regarding any student. "Our Embassy in Ukraine is in continuous touch with Indian nationals in Ukraine", he said. MEA has also requested support of the Ukrainian authorities in arranging special trains for evacuating students from Kharkiv and other western part of the country.
