Why are Baby Sea Otters so Fluffy? Kate Riordan

Kate Riordan studies the properties of sea otter pup fur as a graduate student at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. During this talk for Sea Otter Awareness Week 2021, Kate discussed the structure, function, and ontogeny of the hairs that form the densest coat of any animal of the planet (and, yes, make them look so fluffy). This event was hosted by the Central Coast Aquarium.
