Here's my take on Hoagy Carmichael and Stuart Gorrell's 'Georgia on My Mind', recorded live at Mr. Vain / mrvainbrisbane and featuring Chris James on alto sax / chris_.jam 'Georgia on My Mind' was written in 1930, and stories vary as to whether it was mainly written about the American state or a person. Either way, it became immensely popular, and now is even the official state song of Georgia, U.S.A. It was first recorded by Hoagy Carmichael, but has also been recorded by Louis Armstrong, Mildred Bailey, Billie Holiday, Jo Stafford, Dean Martin, Kay Starr, Bing Crosby, Ray Charles, Ella Fitzgerald, Lou Rawls, Etta Jones, Shirley Horn, and many, many others. In fact, as either a vocal tune or an instrumental, it has been recorded by over 1,000 different artists. I hope you enjoy it! ---------- Subscribe: / @jordanasmussen Merch: https://jordanasmussen.myspreadshop.c...
