Taeko Ohnuki released "Pure Acoustic" album in 1987. It featured a number of songs from previous albums, rearranged for a live performance with acoustic instruments, primarily strings and piano. I came across Taeko Ohnuki's work last year, and while I did generally enjoy it, I hadn't really paid it too much attention until I came across the Pure Acoustic album. I knew as soon as I heard the acoustic version of Siena that I'd need to do an arrangement of it, and here it is! I'm a huge fan of this version in particular, because of how it captured the style and aesthetic of something like a French parlour. Solo done on flugelhorn, borrowed from a friend and teacher, as it wouldn't feel quite right on anything else. Patreon: / aaronbueckert
