Trump praises Charlie Kirk as fearless liberty warrior, awards him Medal of Freedom
President Donald Trump posthumously awarded political activist Charlie Kirk with the Presidential Medal of Freedom on Tuesday, the highest civilian honor. Trump hosted the ceremony in the White House's Rose Garden on what would have been Kirk's 32nd birthday. Charles James Kirk was a visionary and one of the greatest figures of his generation. He was truly an amazing figure," Trump said. Erika Kirk, Charlie's widow and now CEO of Turning Point USA, accepted the award on his behalf.
