New rules will apply from June 2020 Cattle feed will need to be BIS certified. FSSAI has issued a new order after the National Milk Survey found aflatoxin M-1 and the rest of the chemical in a sample of large milk companies. Let us tell you that pasteside and heavy metal were also found in some samples. FSSAI has set the standards for Cattle Feed. Actually, chemicals are found in milk due to poor fodder. That is why it has become mandatory to use fodder with BIS mark. What does FSSAI This food regulator sets all the rules related to making, storing, distributing food in the country, bringing it from abroad to India and selling it. FSSAI comes under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. Its head quarters are located in Delhi, which serves to implement various provisions of the Food Safety Act of the states. Apart from this, it helps in maintaining the fixed standard of production and sale of food items at all the state, district and gram panchayat level in the country.
