WHITEHALL (Rob Wells) -- 86-year-old Julia Lease has rented her Eden of Whitehall Townhome for 36 years. She said she's never had any problems with old glory flying in front of her unit until now. Last week, the retired Franklin County Sheriff's Deputy received a note tucked in her door from the new owners of the property insisting the flag be removed for good. The legal team that represents the new owners says they're notifiying residents that any type of holder that renters installed on their own must be removed, no matter what it holds, to meet community standards. Problem is, Julia says she never signed any contract or agreement set forth by the Minnesota based management company agreeing to those new rules. Property lawyers tell us they won't fine Julia, but will give her one final written warning to comply before maintenance teams remove the flag. Julia says if her flag is taken down, she'll donate it like all her other old flags to Columbus funeral homes to be draped over the coffins of the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice.
