Bhutto is buried in Garhi Khuda Bakhsh alongside her father, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, another former prime minister. Garhi Khuda Bakhsh is close to the Bhutto family village of Larkana. Bhutto was assassinated in a gun and suicide bomb attack after an election campaign rally in Rawalpindi on 27 December 2008. Pakistani Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani on Saturday announced a new human rights award in honour of Bhutto ahead of the first anniversary of her death. The award will be given annually starting next year to two organisations and three individuals who strongly promote human rights as Bhutto did, Gilani said. The government has also announced it will issue a special coin to mark the anniversary. Earlier this month, the United Nations also awarded the late Bhutto a prize for her outstanding contribution to human rights. The United Nations Prize in the Field of Human rights is awarded every five years on December 10 - the anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
