Furious ALCO Action on the Konkan Railway

17 October 2013, 1942hrs./2032hrs. Trains: Northbound, loaded BCNA and BCNHL rakes. Locomotives: Golden Rock WDG3A, Twin Erode WDG3A. Locations: Barkur and Surathkal(mostly). Camera: Canon PowerShot SX20 IS. The Madgaon-Mangalore Passenger in which we were travelling was halted at multiple locations to let these loaded freight trains roar past on full tilt, making for a lovely combination of blinking lights and furious ALCO thrashing. The first train to pass was a BCNA rake led by a lone GOC WDG3A and the second, a BCNHL rake led by twin WDG3As from Erode.
