US seizes two Venezuela-linked oil tankers, including one Russian-flagged
On the 7th, U.S. authorities seized two tankers targeted by Venezuela-related sanctions in the North Atlantic and Caribbean Sea. Secretary of Homeland Security Noem announced this on Twitter. The tankers seized in the North Atlantic had been pursued by the U.S. Coast Guard since December of last year. After the pursuit began, the vessel's name was suddenly changed and it was registered as a Russian vessel, leading to Russia reportedly requesting an end to the pursuit.
