15 June 2015: As part of the Legatum Institute's 'Prosperity for All: Restoring Faith in Capitalism' project, Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks discussed the contribution of social institutions, like family, to economic growth. His visit coincided with the publication of a series of books by David Brooks, Steve Hilton, Charles Murray and Robert Putnam that all identify the weakening of social bonds within poorer communities as a leading cause of economic inequality. He also discusses the role of capitalism in tackling global poverty. Lord Sacks is the author of the newly released, Not In God’s Name.
