Marchand gave Boston a 1-0 lead at 9:21 of the first period moments after exiting the penalty box. He tapped in Haula's pass from the goalmouth. David Savard tied it 1-1 at 8:49 of the second period. The defenseman scored on a backhand after cutting to the middle from the point. Savard missed the past 20 games with an ankle injury.
