The greatness of a nation lies in the way and manner the citizen perceive certain actions of her national government and the credible ability of the citizens to support such actions, if they poise a greater benefit for all in the long run. Like they say 'the politician sees the next election but the elder statesman sees the next generation'. And for the elder statesman to get his bearing and impact positively on the next generation, the next generation must be clairvoyant enough to accept the challenge of change and defend such with their strength and vigor.
