If you're stuck in dark mode (or want to switch back to it), here’s how to change the setting both in Chrome itself and on individual websites. 1. Change Dark Mode on Individual Websites (like Google Search or Reddit): Some websites have their own dark mode setting separate from the browser. For example, on Google Search: Scroll to the bottom of the page or click the gear icon (⚙️). Select “Dark theme: Off” to switch to light mode, or “Dark theme: On” to enable dark mode. You’ll need to do this separately for each site that supports it. 2. Change Chrome’s Overall Appearance Setting (Affects Many Sites): To change dark mode in Chrome itself: Open Google Chrome. Click the three dots in the upper-right corner. Go to Settings. On the left-hand menu, click Appearance. Under “Theme,” select either Light or Dark. This will affect how Chrome looks, and many websites (like ChatGPT, for example) will follow this setting. 3. If Dark Mode Keeps Coming Back: If your settings aren’t sticking, it could be due to: Cookies being deleted, which can reset site preferences. Your device's system theme (especially on phones or Macs/Windows) forcing apps and browsers into dark mode. I cover these issues more in my follow-up video.
