Removing Hair from Hides After a Lime Bath

The keratin has been broken down and in some cases you can just brush the hair away with your hands. This leaves a perfect writing surface. At this point the grain is on. For leather or rawhide, you can leave it on. For parchment you can choose to leave it on or degrain the hide (not shown here).
