It is a fundamental declaration of Tawheed (Islamic monotheism) and negates any form of polytheism or comparison to Allah. Translation: "Say: He is Allah, [who is] One. Allah, the Eternal Refuge. He neither begets nor is born, Nor is there to Him any equivalent." (Quran 112:1-4) This Surah beautifully encapsulates the essence of Allah’s uniqueness, self-sufficiency, and eternal existence, making it one of the most important chapters in the Quran. Virtues and Benefits 1️⃣ Equivalent to One-Third of the Quran The Prophet ﷺ said: "By Him in Whose Hand my soul is, it is equal to one-third of the Qur’an." (📖 Sahih al-Bukhari, 5013; Sahih Muslim, 811) This means that reciting Surah Al-Ikhlas carries immense reward, as it conveys the central message of the Quran—the oneness of Allah. 2️⃣ A Means of Entering Jannah A man once told the Prophet ﷺ that he loved Surah Al-Ikhlas. The Prophet ﷺ replied: "Your love for it will cause you to enter Paradise." (📖 Sunan al-Tirmidhi, 2901) 3️⃣ Protection from Harm and Evil The Prophet ﷺ instructed to recite Surah Al-Ikhlas, Al-Falaq, and An-Nas three times every night for protection: "Recite Surah Al-Ikhlas, Al-Falaq, and An-Nas three times in the evening and morning; they will suffice you from everything." (📖 Abu Dawood, 5082; Al-Tirmidhi, 3575) 4️⃣ A Source of Immense Reward Reciting Surah Al-Ikhlas regularly increases good deeds and earns Allah’s love. It is a simple yet powerful act of worship that can be done daily for barakah (blessings) and purification of faith. 5️⃣ Best Surah for Seeking Allah’s Love The Prophet ﷺ said: "Tell him that Allah loves him." (📖 Sahih al-Bukhari, 7375) This was said regarding a companion who constantly recited Surah Al-Ikhlas out of love for its meaning.
