Subscriber Emil Lord requested a jam track based on “Captain Coconut”, an obscure little Jimi Hendrix number. I settled on the ending jam that just fades into chorused out, warily oblivion. To make it work in looping form I had to change a chord, and put a little “Little Wing” style break in it, which hopefully doesn’t offend all you acolytes of the Church of Hendrix! Anyway, the resulting backing track sounds like a mix between Captain Coconut and Little Wing, and it’s really fun to play over! The chords are: Bm Bm D F#m A - Bm D F#m A Bm Bm D F#m A - Bm D F#m A (break) They all fall into F# Aeolian, but the progression starts on the IVm, which really adds delicious tension to everything you play.
