A 4k downtown Toronto walking video that passes by many boarded up shops. Ever since the Coronavirus / Covid-19 imported itself into Canada and triggered a pandemic the city hasn't been its usual self. Things are slowly starting to re-open and with the arrival of nice weather the city has started to burst back into life. However despite the progress this was one of the strangest walks I've recorded as a number of retailers along the city's main retail strips have been boarded up over fears that there would be rioting and looting over the weekend of June 6th. Fortunately those rumours didn't become reality as the anti-racism and Black Lives Matter protests in the city went very well. This walk Starts from Trinity Bellwoods Park and heads West to Yonge Street, and from there it's north up to Bloor Street and around the Yorkville neighbourhood which features a lot of higher-end retailers. Once I hit Spadina Avenue you'll really notice a lot of the retailers had boarded up their shops. I recorded this on Sunday May 7th at around 2:15 pm and it was 21 degrees Celsius. The distance walked was 6 km. 0:01 - Trinity Bellwoods Park 0:13 - East on Queen Street West (& Queen) 7:29 - Bathurst Street (& Queen) 15:12 - Spadina Avenue (& Queen) 25:52 - Unviersity Avenue (& Queen) 28:55 - City Hall / Nathan Phillips Square / Toronto Sign / Bay Street 30:53 - Bay Street (& Queen) 33:30 - Eaton Centre (south entrance) 34:53 - North on Yonge Street 39:14 - Yonge-Dundas Square 40:07 - Dundas Street (& Yonge) 47:00 - College Street (& Yonge) 51:29 - Wellesley Street (& Yonge) 58:23 - West on Bloor Street West (Yorkville) 1:00:38 - Bay Street (& Bloor) 1:05:19 - North on Avenue Road 1:06:07 - East on Cumberland Street 1:09:24 - Entering Bay Station 1:10:34 - Line 2 subway platform & boarding the train Recorded with a DJI Osmo Pocket in 4K at 60 FPS.
