Gidgegannup resident reveals devastating loss in WA bushfires

Gidgegannup resident Virginia Abson has spoken to Sky News about her family's relocation efforts and the fact their home has been destroyed in Western Australia's devastating bushfires. Ms Abson said her family "evacuated on Monday afternoon, to discover later that evening that the fire had in fact destroyed our house". "All of us got out and relocated to a family premise in Gosnells," Ms Abson said. Ms Abson described the significance of the family home to Sky News host Chris Kenny. "I'll try to do this without breaking down in tears," she said. "We've been in the house 18 years after we moved to the property". "We raised the four kids up there ... the house was just literally a home, it was a family home". Mr Kenny also spoke to Bullsbrook resident Julie Merritt about her situation and experiences with the devastating bushfires.
