Barber remembers man killed in Des Moines shooting

One man is dead after being shot Tuesday night. Officers were called to Prospect Park in Des Moines just before 8:00 p.m. Tuesday night. They arrived to find 31-year-old Paye Blawou suffering from a gunshot wound. Des Moines Fire medics transported him to MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries. "He's just like, a warm, friendly young fellow ... caring ... fun-loving, happy guy," said Marc Nalls, Blawou's barber. "He was just, he was a nice kid." Detectives spent the night interviewing witnesses and examining evidence. This the 13th homicide in Des Moines of 2020.
