The robbery is a chaotic mess from the start, with Riley's "three" warning (a euphemism for three guards) and Ed Wuncler III forgetting his earplugs. After firing a gun and getting everyone on the ground, Ed and Rummy are led to the safe, completely oblivious to their own inefficiency. The heist is so slow it takes "a whole episode of Seinfeld" to complete. Ed is a "perfectionist" who is frustrated at their incompetence, but the bank manager, used to this routine since Ed's grandfather owns the bank, reassures them that they did "very well."
