this was shot 9-8-22 we ecperience the true power if nature when all forces align. steep topography denseassive vegetation with no burn history a steep narrow canyon powerful wind driven by a plume dominated fire. extreme fire behvior was on full display as it ripped threw the canyon with 50 ft flamw lengths moving faster than any human could run and almost as fast as we were driving. for the first time in almost 5 years we made the last second decision to retreat tp the des9gnated safety zone where fire fighters began to makw their stand at the batista canyon inmate fire camp. They were successfull in there mission as a raging fire barreled towards them.
