By: Hal Laboratory When you finish the game on Normal mode, you get a code you can enter to access Extra Mode, a mode that replaces the enemies with new versions that have tougher patterns. For example, Waddle Dees are faster and start jumping when you get closer. And the enemies that used to throw boomerang blades are replaced by others that throw two boomerangs, and when they come back, they return at an upward angle. So if you just jump or fly over the enemies, you’re gonna get hit by the boomerangs. It forces the player to approach the game a little differently. I had never played this mode before picking it up to bring it here. I cleared it first, then played it again to record, just so I wouldn’t mess anything up. I liked this game even more after playing Extra Mode. You can really see how much care was put into it, even though it’s so short. Still, it works really well.
