December 30 The Lord is king, clothed in majesty; he girded himself with a belt of power. The earth, which he has firmly established, will not be moved. (Psalm 92:1) As I said, we had decided to stay at Zechariah's house, in an attempt to hide from Herod, and so we did. Ain-Karim is a small town, and we believed Herod would not look for us there. We then made plans to stay there until Jesus' presentation in the Temple of Jerusalem and after Mary's purification. Needless to say, we were very well received! By that time, the boy John was already quite big, a truly beautiful boy. It was moving to see the joy of Zechariah and Elizabeth with this fruit of the promise. When I think of the chronological line of God's benefits toward us, I am amazed by His providence, and, even though I am convinced that we are only at the beginning of a great story, I am already grateful for everything. I will later share some of the wonders we experienced in this house that welcomed us. When we are in the presence of someone who has experienced God, we feel the scent of divine providence touching the earth.
