Is A Vintage Martin Better Than A New Martin?

Very often in acoustic guitar land we hear that "vintage instruments sound better." Today we wanted to put this to the test and see if a vintage Martin D-28 does in fact sound better than a brand new one fresh from the Martin factory. What do you think?
