Matthew 6:9-13, Luke 11:1-4 The Talmud (Berakhot 16b-17a) records that the sages of the Second Temple period would conclude their recitation of the Shemoneh Esrei (the Amidah) with a short personal prayer. In like manner, Rabbi Yeshua's students asked Him to pass on a short personal prayer to them, by which they could honor their Teacher. The Didache, an ancient text describing the practices of the earliest disciples, records that this prayer was said three times a day, which coincides with the three times for Jewish prayer and the recitation of Shemoneh Esrei - morning (Shacharit), afternoon (Minchah), and evening (Ma'ariv). My prayer is that this video enables Yeshua's students to learn the prayer He gave to them in the language He spoke, and to walk in the dust of their Rabbi.
