Haiti struck by 7.2 magnitude earthquake; at least 304 dead

아이티 7.2 강진으로 최소 304명 사망…"거리에 비명 가득" A powerful earthquake struck the Caribbean nation of Haiti on Saturday, resulting in more than three hundred deaths so far, a number that's expected to rise significantly. This comes eleven years after Haiti was hit by a quake that killed more than 200-thousand. Saturday's quake, according to the U.S. Geological Survey, was measured at magnitude 7-point-2. That compares to 7-point-zero for the 2010 quake. It's expected to take some time to assess the damage, but the U-S-G-S said high casualties and extensive damage are likely. The Prime Minister of Haiti, Ariel Henry, has declared a month-long state of emergency, while U.S. President Joe Biden has authorized relief efforts. Haiti is already dealing with social turmoil following the assassination of its President last month. #Haiti #Earthquake #Disaster 📣 Arirang News(Facebook) :   / arirangtvnews   📣 Arirang News(Twitter) :   / arirangtvnews   📣 News Center(YouTube) :    / newscenter_arirangtv   2021-08-15 12:00 (KST)
