"Identity Theft and Tax Fraud: Growing Problems for the Internal Revenue Service"

The Subcommittee on Government Organization, Efficiency, and Financial Management held a hearing entitled, "Identity Theft and Tax Fraud: Growing Problems for the Internal Revenue Service." The hearing examined tax return fraud perpetuated by identity theft, as well as tax credit fraud. It also addressed the IRS's ability to prevent and identify fraudulent activity. The hearing was a follow-up to the Subcommittee's June 2, 2011 hearing. November 4, 2011
