Following the discovery of thousands of posters, some of which were critical of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stuck to walls and poles in various parts of the capital, the Delhi Police filed 100 FIRs and made six arrests. According to reports, the police took down approximately 2,000 anti-Modi posters from various locations across the city. One of the posters ('Modi hatao, desh bachao') called for the overthrow of the PM Modi-led administration at the Center. 100 FIRs were filed by Delhi Police, and six people were detained for posting offensive posters throughout the city, some of which were directed against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The posters lacked information on the printing press. According to Special CP Deependra Pathak of ANI, the FIRs were filed in accordance with the Printing Press Act and the Defacement of Property Act. A van was additionally stopped. A few posters were taken, and there were some arrests," he continued. A similar occurrence of PM Modi-shaming posters was recorded in the city in 2021 during the COVID-19 immunisation campaign. 15 persons were detained by the Delhi Police after 17 FIRs were filed against them for pasting the posters.
