A remake of the logo used by the home video arm of defunct British film distributor Guild from 1986, done with as much accuracy as possible. Guild was one of the earliest and most successful independent video distributors in the UK, active in the 1980s and 1990s. In their early years, they were known for the high quality and professionalism of their releases and had an unusually large catalog compared to their rivals, with well over 100 titles released within the first two years of trading alone. Such success helped Guild to survive the 1984 Video Recordings Act, which resulted in many other video companies at the time to go out of business, allowing them to grow during the latter half of the 1980s, even moving into theatrical distribution, with them setting up a deal with mini-major studio Carolco Pictures, therefore being the UK theatrical distributor for big budget blockbuster movies such as Terminator 2: Judgment Day, Total Recall, Cliffhanger, and Rambo III. The home video arm was also the distributor for other independent studios such as New Line Cinema, Cannon and Lorimar. Guild remained strong into the 1990s, at a point when the video trade was becoming dominated by the major Hollywood studios, but this didn't last, and in 1996, they merged with Pathé to form Guild Pathé Cinema. The Guild name was ultimately retired in 1998 when it was renamed to Pathé Distribution. Animation was made in an HD resolution of 1440p running at 30fps. © Pathé.
