Few clues in vandalism of officer's headstone

DEARBORN COUNTY, Ind. (Deb Dixon) -- The reward is growing for information about the police officer's grave that was vandalized. The only grave in the Aurora cemetery that was spray painted was the headstone of Lawrenceburg detective Tom Cochran. People lined the streets from Lawrenceburg to Aurora when Cochran died in 2005. His patrol car hit black ice and crashed on a run. In a community where people usually help police, few clues have come in on who vandalized the gravestone. The Dearborn County sheriff and the detective have been working on the case. Gold paint was cleaned off by a Greendale, Indiana police officer. No one asked her to do that. No one had to ask. Before it was cleaned off there was "Pig" spray painted in gold. Tom's face was painted over too. But who would target Tom Cochran's headstone now? Nearly 10 years after he died? Sheriff Mike Kreinhop of Dearborn County said, "It could be a case 10 years late because of events in the public with other police agencies spurred someone to do something locally." Sheriff Kreinup said the community was outraged at the disrespect and he's sure people know who did it, "In this case we're asking the public to help us in this matter we have not received tips or leads at this point." There were no other vandalism in the cemetery. Police do have information teenagers hang out there and there were empty beer cans in garbage cans. It may mean nothing, but certain color spray paints produces a great high for huffing
