Number of Times to Chant : 9, 11, 108, or 1008 times. Narasimha Gayatri Mantra or Nrsimha Gayatri Stotra is the Gayatri Mantra of Lord Narasimha, the half-man and half-lion form of Lord Vishnu. Narasimha, Narasingh, Narsingh and Narasingha and Narasimhar in derivative languages is an avatar of the Hindu god Vishnu and one of Hinduism's most popular deities, as evidenced in early epics, iconography, and temple and festival worship for over a millennium. Lord Vishnu takes the form of Narasimha in his fourth incarnation, the previous one being that of a Boar (Varaha). Vishnu kills the demon Hiranyaksha during his Varaha avatar. His younger brother, Hiranyaksha was slain by Varaha, one of the Avatars of Vishnu and angered by this, Hiranyakashipu decided to gain magical powers by performing a penance for Lord Brahma. He was subsequently killed by the Narasimha Avatara of Lord Vishnu. Yoga Narasimhar gave his seva for Gadika in yogic pose. Because of this, the temple of Yoga Narasimha is also called as "Gadikachalam.". Goddess Lakshmi and Bhoodevi are with him. Lord Anjaneya again in a yogic pose has a sepearate temple in an adjoining hill again in the yogic pose.
