Derek O'Brien Accuses Central Govt Of Using 'Shock Therapy' To Intimidate And Influence People

Derek O’Brien, Rajya Sabha MP and TMC leader, speaking at India Today Conclave east 2021, using a book analogy accused the central government of using “shock therapy” to intimidate and influence people. O’Brien referred to the demonetisation announcement saying, “Bang! And, then you hope to change perception It’s another matter that within two hours, West Bengal chief minister said withdraw this ‘draconian decision’. No other party said it.” Giving another example, O’Brien highlighted how the lockdown was announced in India at just four hours’ notice.
