Cultist Base Classic - HDR - Part 4 of 4 - Nightmare - no deaths - Doom Eternal

This is part 4 of 4 of my playthrough of the Cultist Base Classic mission on Doom Eternal on Nightmare difficulty, managing to complete the mission with no deaths. I split the original video into 4 parts so Youtube would display them in High Dynamic Range (HDR) format. HDR is the recommended viewing format if your monitor and graphics card, or latest smart phone or tablet supports HDR format. 00:00 The second Slayer Gate of the game 03:01 Preparing to leave the Basilica of Adjuration for the Station of Anointment 04:30 Final battle in the Station of Anointment Cultist Base is one of the toughest missions in the base campaign, since your Doom Slayer is still building up strength and weapons, and you get thrown a lot of tough enemies thru many arenas. Note there are a few intermissions between combats as I recover ammo and health/armor to prepare for the upcoming battles. Use the timeline below to skip to points of importance. I labeled most fights as Arenas, or Battles or Skirmishes. Arch-vile uses the Plasma Rifle's Heat Blast mod to tear thru everything quickly:    • DOOM ETERNAL Mission 3 - Cultist Base (Nig...   Recommended starting equipment: Air Control rune - to improve maneuvering and general overhead combat Precision Bolt mod, sticky bombs For the Plasma Rifle I recommend the Heat Blast mod, as the Microwave Beam will not use , since you are constantly under attack by large numbers of demons. I already had the Microwave mod from the prior mission and did not feel like starting the game over to acquire the Heat Blast mod, so I went without it. For the weapon upgrade I recommend the Lock-on Mod for the Rocket Launcher, since the modded rockets have the most effective DPS to take out big demons quickly. For the single Rune Upgrade I recommend: Blood Fueled - lets you boost away from glory kills quickly, and more speed is good for this mission or Dazed and Confused - I chose this Rune, as I like having extra time to reach the staggered enemy, or to have more time to shoot it dead from a distance. Plus a longer-staggered demon is one less demon attacking me. For the Praetor Suit upgrades I recommend this order: 1) Faster Dasher - you need more speed to out maneuver the large number of opponents shooting at you 2) Faster Weapon Swap - will come in handy later once you get the Super Shotgun, so to use combos effectively on the Slayer Gate and the 2nd Secret Encounter, and the final arena. I got barrel damage immunity before the end but not sure if it works against the mine-barrels. 3X Chainsaw fuel usage: 1) The large outdoor arena before entering the main Citadel - there are many big demons so I kept the chainsaw fuel stored up for the Mancubus. 2) The Secret Encounter #2, with the two Whiplashes, Cybersoldier and Mancubus. I planned to use the chainsaw on the Mancubus so to get away from the Whiplashes Note you can also opt to use the chainsaw fuel for The Pit to take out a Mancubus. But this means you will need skill or luck to survive the Secret Encounter 2. A few suggested Tactics: 1) Always be moving, don't stand still for a second, even if using lock-on weapons 2) In the outdoor arenas keep your eyes peeled for the Cacodemons, as once they fly into their weapon range they can set on you very quickly 3) Related, make sure you know where all big demons are in each arena at all times - if you can't see the demon and it's not dead, assume it's behind you and getting close 4) For the cueballs, always have a back-up plan if you miss the shot.
