Temperatures will climb into the mid-90s this weekend, with highs between 93° and 97°, even along the coast. Expect it to feel hotter thanks to elevated humidity. Saturday brings a 40% chance of showers or storms. Sunday offers a slightly higher chance of rain, around 50%. Rain and Beach Forecast The Sebreeze with control where rain develops, it should develop again around midday Saturday, sparking showers and storms as it lifts northward. This will help clear the coast in the afternoon as drier, more suppressive air settles in behind the high-pressure system aloft. As we head into Sunday, that sea breeze boundary will try to redevelop again by midday, though northwesterly winds will keep it pinned closer to the coast. This is why coastal areas could hold onto rain chances just a bit longer. Those same winds will also help push some cloud cover and possibly stratiform rain back toward the coast, keeping rain chances elevated for much of the day Sunday. Tropics: We're not expecting any tropical development in the Atlantic or eastern Pacific over the next 7 days. However, we are watching a couple of pieces of energy along the northern Gulf. These could lead to the formation of a weak surface low, which—at this point—just means higher rain chances for our area. Extended forecast: -Rain chances jump to 70% by next Wednesday -Then rise to 80% Thursday and Friday -Silver lining—temperatures will cool off slightly, so maybe a little rain isn’t such a bad thing.
