Not too hard of a run to do but it was fun and interesting, also the first time I've done a no death challenge outside of DS3 and BB. The no bonfire run and what does and doesn't count is sorta weird, using primal bonfires does not count and neither does lighting regular bonfires. I suppose as long as you don't rest at a bonfire everything's fine. At the start of the run I tried to not use anything bonfire related at all, including not using homeward bones. Retarded and idk why I did it, but I did. To give this run more difficulty I also decided to do this without rolling, it doesn't add a huge crazy amount of challenge but it's a nice modifier that makes this run more unique compared to the others. While the title says just "No roll" this is more like no rolling/blocking/parrying; could have the title be "No rolling/blocking/parrying No death no bonfire run" but that seems unnecessarily long. A shield would probably make some encounters easier and take away from the challenge that not rolling brings. The addition of no rolling changes some things. Some bosses are a bit more annoying, Mytha in particular is very incompatible with that restriction and getting through the fight honestly boils down to RNG. She has a lot of attacks that are hard to run around and you can't really predict what she's going to do, even with being leveled and having good damage and decent armor/defense it is still easily possible for a run to go to shit there and have her end the attempt. Some areas such as Shrine of Amana and Iron Keep can be more dangerous too, any multi-enemy conflict is somewhat hard to deal with. The advantage not rolling brings however is not having to worry about that stupid fucking adaptibility stat, which lets you put more levels into HP and str/skill. I'm not sure if an SL1 version of this would be possible, or at least possible for me to do. I take some REALLY dumb hits during boss fights and areas that I don't mean to, and some of those might be a oneshot. I could see Mytha being an absolute pain in the ass along with perhaps Throne Watcher and Defender. Areas would be much more cancerous too, some of the encounters in Shrine of Amana would be absolutely terrible. I'm not 100% sure but I believe you can kill every boss including DLCs under the no bonfire restriction. I'd rather not do that with these set of restrictions though, the Ivory King DLC is AWFUL without rolling.
