The Temptations Sing Smokey (1965) | Happy 58th Anniversary!

Today in music history, marks the 58th Anniversary of my absolute favorite album by the Temptations, titled "The Temptations Sing Smokey!" It was released on this day back in 1965 This album was all about like the title itself, singing Smokey! The Temptations sing all the songs that were sung and written by the legendary Smokey Robinson and each and every song the Temptations make it their own, especially their hit songs "My Girl," "The Way You Do The Things You Do," which was already on their first album "Meet The Temptations" but was entered into this album, and their newest hit "It's Growing." It also featured many covers of songs that were written by Smokey like "You Beat Me To The Punch," "You'll Lose A Precious Love," "Who's Lovin' You," "What Love Has Joined Together," "You Can Depend On Me" and more classics! Fun Fact: Did you know that Al Bryant is on the song "Baby, Baby I Need You"? The song was recorded two years before the albums release. This Temptations album really sticks out to me. It truly captures the true Temptations sound to me, as all the songs are literally straight classics.
