The World's Most Beautiful Island (Saint Lucia)
Saint Lucia is the jewel of the Caribbean and one of the most beautiful island nations in the world. Perfect to explore over the course of a few days, in this travel guide we'll discover the very best things to do in Saint Lucia, including top attractions and hidden gems. We'll begin by heading to Diamond Falls and Botanical Gardens, a haven for wildlife and local birds. Then we'll head to one of the most popular towns on the island, Soufriere, where we'll meet a local café owner. Afterwards we'll head to the world's only 'drive in volcano' where you can enjoy plenty of volcanic activity, including bubbling mud pools before we enjoy views of the iconic Pitons from Tet Paul Nature trail. The next day we'll embark on the Gros Piton hike, one of the most challenging trails on the island but a walk that's incredibly rewarding thanks to an abundance of local wildlife and stunning views from the summit. We'll then relax at the Piton falls, a hot spring complete with its very own waterfall. After a soak we'll drive to Anse Chastanet, which is easily the best spot on the island to go snorkelling. We'll then explore the south of the island, where we'll visit Vieux Fort before meeting local artist Hattie Barnard, whose artwork is inspired by the sheer beauty of Saint Lucia. For our final day on Saint Lucia we'll head onto the Millet Nature Trail with local guide Ken, where we'll search for the local endemic parrot. We'll end our time on Saint Lucia by heading to Pigeon Island, a former fortified island which has since been transformed into a historical park where you can visit the ruins of the fortifications and enjoy beautiful views of Saint Lucia.
